Interracial Family Organization: Blog Redesign/Community Creation
As the co-founder of this website, I am responsible for the design and technical maintenance of the website, blog, and the discussion forum. Because it can all get to be a bit much, I wanted to figure out a way to implement everything into one platform. I activated WordPress Multi-site, installed Buddypress, and am in the process of integrating the forum into the installation as well so that our entire community is housed — and managed — in one area. I also added a new feature to our site which allows our members to create their own blogs on our domain similar to Blogger’s network capability, complete with a stumble feature that allows people to visit a random blog, member, or member group! I also made the design itself focus more on our content and less on the blog, but gave prominent site-wide access to the blog because it is still an important aspect of our community outreach!
