A Hen’s Nest: Blog Transfer {Blogger to WordPress}
Henrietta initially contacted me about configuring the new custom domain she purchased so that it would be integrated into her Blogger blog. However, when she learned of the special I was running on Blogger to WordPress transfers she couldn’t pass up the chance to move her blog onto the self-hosted platform and expand her control over the layout — OH, the possibilities! We had a few small challenges to overcome along the way, but once I took care of a couple of permalink issues, she was finally ready to get acquainted with her new bloggy home!
Henrietta’s main concern was maintaining the integrity of her “Google juice” and ensuring that despite having a .blogspot.com address before, she wouldn’t lose any of her traffic. She was ecstatic to find that none of her links were broken and that her search engine traffic – even though it was indexed under a completely different URL – was still being directed to the correct articles. Working with Henrietta on this project was my pleasure! It was a great joy to welcome her to the WordPress family!
